Migrate from HubSpot to Twenty

Export companies, contacts, and deals as CSV. Import them into Twenty in that order. Marketing email, forms, and workflows do not come along.

How long: A day for companies, people, and one pipeline. Longer if you also rebuild email.

Take it out

  1. Step 1

    Export companies

In HubSpot, open CRM, then Companies. If CRM is tucked under More, use that. Open the All companies view and click Export. Choose CSV. Include the domain. HubSpot emails a download link. The link expires after 30 days.

  2. Step 2

    Export contacts

Do the same for Contacts. Include email. That column is how Twenty tells people apart. Exporting every contact includes people who unsubscribed from email. Filter those out only if this file will be mailed.

  3. Step 3

Export deals if you use a pipeline

Open CRM, then Deals, and export the All deals view as CSV. One file per object. Workflows, landing pages, and ad audiences are not in these files.

Put it in

  1. Step 1

    Create fields before you import

In Twenty, open Settings, then Data Model, and create any custom field you still need. The CSV creates records. It does not create fields. Each file holds one object, and a CSV import stops at 10,000 rows. Bigger sets use the API.

  2. Step 2

Import companies, then people, then opportunities

Open the object, click the menu at the top right, and choose Import records. Companies go first. People go second. Deals map to Opportunities and go third. To link a person to a company, use one column with the domain as https://acme.com. Map that column to the Company field. Do not also map a company id.

  3. Step 3

Fix the yellow rows, then check a few records

Twenty highlights bad rows in yellow. Fix them on that screen, or skip the row, then confirm. Open a few people and check the company link. A select such as deal stage wants the option's API name, which you can see on the field in Data Model, not only the label from HubSpot.

What you lose

  • Marketing Hub

Twenty is the CRM half. Its docs say sequences and newsletters belong in a separate email tool. Forms and landing pages do not import. If that is the half of HubSpot you pay for, use the Mautic guide.

  • Workflows

HubSpot workflows are not in the CSV. Twenty can send mail from a workflow you build under Settings. That is a new workflow, not the old one.

  • Old email and the row cap

The contact CSV is current property values, not the old email log. Mailbox sync is a separate setup. A file over 10,000 rows needs another file or the API.

If you live in deals and companies, start here. Mautic is the top score on the HubSpot page because campaigns and forms are on it. Twenty is the CRM next to that, and one app is not both.
