Cap
Cap records your screen and a camera bubble, then gives you a link. Most of the code is AGPL-3.0. The camera parts are MIT. The app you download is free for home use. Work use of that download needs a paid license. You can also run the web app yourself.
Open source means you can use, change, and share the code.
The code you build is AGPL-3.0, except the cap-camera and scap parts, which are MIT. The desktop app from Cap's download page is free for home use. Work use of that download needs a paid license. A copy you build yourself does not have that extra rule.
Free plan
Home use of the desktop app is free. The price page says local recordings on that plan have no time limit. Free share links stop at 5 minutes.
They host it
$12 per user each month, or $8.16 a month if you pay for the year. That is Cap Pro. A desktop license is $29 a year, or $58 once.
Run it yourself
You put the app on a computer you control. Moderate. Docker Compose is the documented way to run the web app. Then you point the desktop app at your own web address.
How close is it?
100 means it does everything the paid app does.

Keep Cap correct?
If a license, a price, or a feature mark is wrong, send a correction. A labeled featured listing is $149/mo. Paying never changes rankings or scores, and it cannot take the #1 spot.
