Best Free Alternatives to Canva (2026)

Canva is how non-designers make social posts, decks, and one-pagers. Pro is sold per person per year and unlocks the premium template and stock library. There is no open-source tool with that library.

What Canva costs

Canva Pro is US$144/year for one person.

The free plan remains useful. A monthly Pro price is widely quoted and was not taken from the annual card on Canva's pricing page during this check, so it is omitted. Business and Enterprise are separate.

Move from Canva to Penpot

Export the artwork and rebuild it. Penpot does not open Canva files, and it does not have Canva's template library. The score on this page is low on purpose.
