Migrate from Heroku to Coolify

List the apps, the buildpacks or Dockerfiles, and the databases.

Time: A sitting for a small set of files. Longer if several people share the account.

Parts of this guide depend on a product screen that moves between releases. The fallback path in the steps is the one to trust.

Export

  1. Step 1

Export while you still have access

List the apps, the buildpacks or Dockerfiles, and the databases.

  2. Step 2

Keep a copy that is not the old account

Put the export on a disk you control before you cancel. The export is the only rollback.

Import

  1. Step 1

    Bring a sample into Coolify

Create the apps on Coolify and restore Postgres from a dump.

  2. Step 2

    Then do the rest

If the sample looks right, run the rest. If it does not, stop and fix the mapping. Do not cancel the old account in the middle.

What breaks

  • What does not come with you

Add-ons other than a database you can dump do not transfer.

  • People and permissions

Accounts on the new tool are new accounts. Sharing has to be set up again.

This guide is a path, not a promise that every setting moves. The steps were not re-checked against a live click-path on 2026-10-15.
